Los Angeles Geotechnical GroupEstablishing New Kenneth L. Lee Lecture AwardThe Geotechnical Group of the Los Angeles Section of ASCE is pleased to announce that work is underway to establish the Kenneth L. Lee Lecture award. This lecture will be administered by the LA ASCE Geotechnical Group and will be awarded annually in recognition of either (1) outstanding achievement in research related to the design of earth structures or Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering or (2) outstanding contributions to Geotechnical Engineering practice in southern California. The inaugural Kenneth L. Lecture is expected to occur at the Geotechnical Group's Spring Seminar in 2004.The work of the organizing committee for this award has only recently begun. One of our initial priorities is to establish a list of former students and colleagues of Professor Lee.
