Geo-Trans 2004 Rocked L.A. in July

Over 550 people congregated at Geo-Trans 2004 in Los Angeles in July for an informative 4 days of looking at the many aspects of geotechnical engineering for transportation projects.

The conference ran extremely smoothly, and the attendees consistently commented on the conference's success. With more than 195 individual presentations, 9 plenary keynote speakers, 2 short courses, an extensive Deep Mixing Workshop and Symposium, many attendees had a hard time choosing what sessions to attend. As incoming G-I President, Arlan H. Rippe said "...that's the mark of a successful conference!"
Attendees reviewed the latest technologies displayed in the oversold Exhibit Hall of 61 exhibitors, and thoroughly enjoyed the Welcome Barbeque, Reception, and Banquet. Ralph Peck and George Goble each hosted a book signing. Tremendous response to Dr. Peck's book resulted in nearly 100 on-site books sales. Banquet attendees, Roch Player and Ryan Berg were the winners of the Hilton's top conference prize—a limo-driven ride to the airport.
