The Geo-Institute of ASCE publishes a wide variety of materials to support education, research, and professional practice in geotechnical engineering.
Geotechnical Special Publications (GSP)
GSPs are the flagship publications of the Geo-Institute and reflect the diversity of the geotechnical field. These include proceedings from Geo-Congress and specialty conferences, as well as guidelines and technical reports from G-I committees. GSPs are internationally recognized and all papers undergo a rigorous peer review process.

Geotechnical Practice Publications (GPP)
GPPs highlight practical papers presented at local or regional events. They provide an accessible platform for practicing engineers to share their knowledge with the broader geotechnical community. GPPs follow a more streamlined editorial process and are available in the ASCE Library.

Books & Standards
The Geo-Institute of ASCE (G-I) publishes a variety of materials across the disciplines, including books and conference proceedings, among others. There are also two standards in active development. G-I monitors or participates in the International Building Code, other ASCE institute standards, and ASTM International standards. The Geo-Institute’s Geotechnical Special Publications (GSPs) are recognized nationally and internationally as premier publications for geotechnical engineering and the geoprofession. These books help G-I members stay current with industry changes.

Journals
G-I contributes to two prominent journals:
- Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering (JGGE): Covers innovative research and case studies in geotechnical engineering topics including foundations, slope stability, earthquake engineering, and more.
